When I was first introduced to Oceans Of Slumber, it had been under a completely different guise that seemed to favor experimental, yet extreme metal. I praised the disc heavily and still have a sealed copy of it in my home, but that sound is now something of the past as the band have moved in the direction of what I think to be far greater territory in this EP. Blue was originally self-released, but adored so much by the label that they’ve decided to press it themselves

Oceans of Slumber’s ‘Blue’ is similar to rummaging through an old box found in the attic. It is exciting in the sense that there are things that were once familiar but seem different now, there are others that just simply make no sense, and of course, there’s finding that gem hidden at the bottom of the box. Oceans of Slumber are a talented outfit; more than that, they are really good songwriters. Son of a bitch this album hits hard. Plague Years takes the fear and loathing pulsing from the open wound of today’s society and turns it into rage fueled music. The vital and life-giving music we know and love as heavy metal. Their new album called MW Unique Fans Globally.
