Point of Go. Jonquil. Point of Go Tracklist.
Album: Point Of Go. Released: 2012. Style: Indie Pop. Format: MP3 320Kbps, FLAC. Previously on NewAlbumReleases. net: No Related Post. Megadeth – Warheads On Foreheads (2019).
The album’s title is pulled from a two-track suite Point of Go (Part 1) and its follow up, Point of Go (Part 2), that builds from a wistful, vocal rumination on the past to a shimmering, futuristic swirl of synths and vox. The album’s standout track, Run, rolls out with punchy piano chords and driving percussion that kick up the album’s momentum at its midpoint. Somehow, Jonquil’s new record is able to subtly pull from the entire gamut of indie-minded rock, from ’60s garage-brewed calypso to jangle and dream pop. Point of Go is a big surprise, a feel-good pop-rock album that comes out of nowhere and brims with an excess of positive energy. This album is pure indie pop sunshine. Essential Tracks: Run, This Innocent.
Listen to Point of Go all this week. It’s difficult to define Oxford, UK-based Jonquil; although they undeniably appeal to fans of sunny pop numbers, but don’t let the ‘pop’ distinction fool you into assuming their sound resembles what you might find on mainstream radio. It’s filled with floating chords and memorable melodies, but approaches each song in a way that feels familiar yet continuously surprises the listener. The band has released two albums as a six-piece outfit, but now reemerges as a quartet with Point of Go. The lineup change isn’t the only aspect that makes this LP new territory for the group.
Profile: Hugo Manuel (aka Chad Valley (2), Sam Hudson Scott and Robin McDiarmid - from Oxford, England.

Point of Go bespeaks close attention to detail: harmonies are on-point (a particular highlight is the moment when the quartet's buoyant voices come together to ignite History of Headaches), Sam Scott's dabs of trumpet are used sparingly as dreamy counterweights, and rhythms are executed with a dazzlement that evokes Vampire Weekend (listen to, especially, It's My Part). Yet, for all its small pleasures, there's a lack of distinctiveness
