Between late 1962 and mid-1964, Bob Dylan cut more than three dozen songs at the New York City offices of Witmark Publishing, building a large body of demo sessions that the firm could then shop to other singers. In hindsight, these simple, appealingly cavalier solo recordings represent an essential component of Dylan's transformation from performer to poet, capturing the remarkable evolution of his songwriting from the protest anthems that first won him fame to the deeply personal and intimate songs that remain his greatest legacy.
Through a Bullet of Light. Through a Bullet of Light.
Through a bullet of light Her face was reflecting The fast fading words That rolled from my tongue With a long-distance look Her eyes was on fire But the song it was long And there was more to be sung . Guitar and Vocals Bob Dylan. The Bootleg Series, Vol 1-3: Rare & Unreleased 1961-1991 Bob Dylan. 1. Hard Times In New York Town Demo. 2. No More Auction Block. 3. He Was A Friend Of Mine. 5. Like a Bullet of Light book. Lee traces Dylan’s celluloid obsession from teenage adulation of James Dean through groundbreaking documentaries like Don’t Look Back and his enigmatic appearance in Peckinpah’s Pat Garratt and Billy The Kid, on to Dylan’s surreal dramatic directorial debut, Renaldo and Clara, and his starring role in mainstream Hollywood vehicle, Hearts of Fire
The early session looks at Dylan’s often uneasy relationship with the medium and will show a range of clips from throughout his career. The day includes a screening of the classic ‘rockumentary’ DON’T LOOK BACK and will finish with a discussion about Dylan’s work on the screen. Visit Digital Channel.

Through a bullet of light Her face was reflectin' The fast fading words That rolled from my tongue With a long-distance look Her eyes was on fire But the song it was long And there was more to be sung. My eyes danced a circle Across her clear outline With her head tilted sideways She called me again As the tune drifted out She breathed hard through the echo But the song it was long And it was far to the end. I glanced at my guitar And played it pretendin' That of all the eyes out there I could see none As her thoughts pounded hard Like the pierce of an arrow But the song it was long. Album 50th Anniversary Collection 1964 (2014). Labels Columbia, Legacy, Sony Music.
